The Research Institute and the Budget Working Committee of the National People's Congress Held A Video Conference for Promoting Fiscal Legislation Case Study

On March 21, 2024, the Research Institute and the Budget Working Committee of the National People’s Congress held a video conference for promoting the fiscal legislation case study.  

The meeting was presided over by Shen Peng, the Deputy Director of Bill Office of Budget Working Committee of the National People’s Congress. Firstly, Deputy Director Shen Peng made an introduction to the topic background of this fiscal legislation case study, and expressed his gratitude to the experts of this Research Institute for their long-term support to the works of the Budget Working Committee, especially in the fiscal legislation work. Next up, Professor Liu Xiaobing, the principal of the research group, reported the development progress of the fiscal legislation case study, and introduced the research thinking of the subject in several aspects. Later, the meeting developed discussion around the reported contents, the various attendants made in-depth exchange of opinions, preliminarily formed revision opinions and specified the scheduling requirements for promotion of the topic in the future, the two parties will further make in-depth exchanges later. Lastly, Deputy Director Shen Peng made conclusion of this meeting, he stressed the significance of research on fiscal rule of law, and thanked the research group again for their emphasis on this subject.

The personnel who also attended this meeting included Su Dacheng, Director of Bill Office of Budget Working Committee of the National People’s Congress, Zhai Meng, Sheng Saisai and Jiang Jilei from the Bill Office, Professor Cong Shuhai, the President of the Council of the Research Institute, Executive Director Liu Xiaochuan as well as over a dozen members of this research group and experts from outside the university.
