A Group of Our Institute Made Survey and Investigation in Tokyo on Elderly Care Issue

At the beginning of the survey and investigation, Hitotsubashi University invited officials from the Tokyo Metropolitan National City Policy and Operations Department and Health and Welfare Department to make introduction to the group regarding the situation of the national city’s social security system, elderly care system, nursing insurance system, aging population issue, home care issue, hospital elderly care system and home elderly care system, and made in-depth exchanges with the attending experts and government officials, as a result, the group had preliminary understanding of the overall elderly care situation of the national city, and it set a good foundation for the following on-the-spot investigation.

Later, Professor Shinji Yamashige led the group to visit and investigate the Tokyo National City Welfare Association, the Home Care Support Agency, the Elderly Care and Welfare Institutions and the Elder Care Institution respectively, we made detailed field survey, developed discussion meeting with principal of each institution, therefore we had deeper understanding of the actual work of Japan in the aspect of elderly care system, and also found many experiences that can be learned in China, meanwhile, for the pain spots and lessons in the implementation process in Japan, we can also effectively avoid them in the specific practice in China.
