The Symposium on the 10th Anniversary of the Founding of the China Public Finance Institute of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics was Held in Beijing

On August 20^th, the Symposium on the 10^th Anniversary of the Founding of the China Public Finance Institute of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics was held in Beijing, leaders including former Director Gao Qiang and former Deputy Director Yao Sheng of the Budget Affairs Commission of the National People's Congress, Deputy Director Liu Xiuwen of the Budget Affairs Commission of the National People's Congress, Professor Cong Shuhai, former Party Secretary of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics and current Chairman of the Academic Committee of the China Public Finance Institute, attended this Symposium.

The Symposium was presided over by Executive Director Liu Xiaochuan of the China Public Finance Institute of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics. Firstly, Executive Director Liu Xiaochuan reported to the attending leaders about the main work performances, encountered problems during the past ten years since the establishment of this institute, and plans for work in the future; secondly, Office Director Liu Yonghe of the China Public Finance Institute of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics reported to the attending leaders about the planned activities for the 10^th Anniversary of the Founding of the Institute and their progress so far; next, the attending leaders respectively gave speeches about the institute’s performances in the past and works in the future, they all recognized that the institute has played important role in the development of China’s finance work during the last ten years, and also proposed ardent expectations about the institute’s development in the future.

Lastly, Former Director Gao Qiang of the Budget Affairs Commission of the National People's Congress made a conclusive speech, he highly recognized the achievements made by the institute in the past ten years, Gao Qiang believed that the institute was established ten years ago as the times required under the background of joint construction of the “Two Ministries and One City”, the importance and necessity of which were self-evident. The institute has been an important link and think tank platform for Shanghai University of Finance and Economics to connect with the Budget Affairs Commission of the National People's Congress, the Ministry of Finance as well as other central ministries and commissions and local governments, and also undertaken the important duty of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics for “Serving the National Finance and Taxation Action Plan”. At the 10^th Anniversary of the Founding of the Institute, the institute shall carry forward the cause pioneered by its predecessors and forge ahead into the future, and make efforts for the next glorious ten years.

The personnel who also attended this Symposium included Former Director Li Shaogang of the Budget Review Center of the Ministry of Finance, Outside Director Xu Guoqiao of China Railway Corporation, Former Chairman Jiang Jianping of the Finance and Economics Committee of the Standing Committee of the Jiangsu Provincial People's Congress, Professor Liu Xiaobing, Deputy to the 13^th National People's Congress and Former Dean of the School of Public Economics and Management of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, and Deputy District Chief Deng Cao of the People’s Government of Nanhu District of Jiaxing City.
