A Group of Our Institute Led by Executive Director Liu Xiaochuan Visited Dunhuang Academy for Survey and Research

During August 11th-14th, Executive Director Liu Xiaochuan of our institute accepted the invitation by YICAI Foundation and went to Dunhuang to visit Dunhuang Academy for survey and research.

Researcher Luo Huaqing, the Deputy Director of Dunhuang Academy and Vice Chairman of China Dunhuang Grottoes Protection and Research Foundation, welcomed the group of our institute led by Executive Director Liu Xiaochuan. 

Firstly, Luo Huaqing welcomed the visit by Executive Director Liu Xiaochuan, and introduced the history and development situation of Dunhuang Academy. Director Liu believed that Dunhuang, as an important node of the One Belt and One Road, is an important name card of China on international stage, and the protection of cultural relics in Dunhuang is of great significance and urgency. Secondly, there’s close connection between public finance and cultural relics protection, how to play the role of public finance in cultural relics protection is a critical process in promoting the development of entire course of cultural relics protection. Director Luo also indicated that there’s vast room of cooperation between the two parties, and he’s looking forward to in-depth exchange and cooperation in various links of cultural relics protection, and the two parties shall jointly make contribution to the development of China’s cultural relics protection.

Besides, the group led by Executive Director Liu Xiaochuan also made the survey and research on the subsidiaries of Dunhuang Academy, namely the Yulin Grottoes Cultural Relics Protection Research Institute and the West Qianfo Cave Cultural Relics Protection Research Institute, as well as made in-depth communication with Yangguan Museum, an excellent representative of private museums.

The personnel who also participated in this survey and research included Deputy Director Du Jianjun of Yulin Grottoes Cultural Relics Protection Research Institute, Director Liu Qin of West Qianfo Cave Cultural Relics Protection Research Institute, Deputy Director Wu Fengping of Yangguan Museum, Secretary General Peng Jia of YICAI Foundation and Office Director LLiu Yonghe of our institute.
